The original art is done in black ink and imported into Photoshop where it is inverted—black becoming white, and white becoming black. The image is then pushed to high contrast and refined using a digital brush. The final black and white illustration is then imported into InDesign where color overlays are added. For certain illustrations these overlays are slightly transparent, which gives the print a lithographic quality. Textures, if needed, are then added to finish the art.
